Many new features have been added to the most recent iPhone 15 series, but how do they compare to the previous generation Pro model?

After seeing the iPhone 15 in all its beauty, our editor awarded it a 4-star rating and the Trusted Reviews Recommended badge. The newest Apple phone could be difficult to top with the addition of new software and a few hardware upgrades.

However, it would be unwise to disregard the existence of all previous iPhone models. The iPhone 15 has a lot to live up to after the nearly flawless 4.5-star iPhone 14 Pro debuted last year.

Camera

Instead of the dedicated telephoto lens found in the Pro versions, it has a 12 MP ultrawide and telephoto sensor with support for 2x digital zoom in addition to the 48-megapixel primary sensor.

iPhone 14 Pro vs iPhone 15: the key differences

Although Apple never discloses the battery size of its phones, we are aware that the iPhone 14 Pro has a 3,200mAh battery and that the iPhone 15 is rumored to feature a slightly bigger 3,349mAh battery owing to teardowns.

Although you might assume that would result in longer battery life for the iPhone 15, Apple claims that the iPhone 14 Pro typically has higher battery life than the iPhone 15, lasting up to 23 hours of video playback on a single charge as opposed to 20 hours for the iPhone 15. When it comes to charging, however, the iPhone 15 may have an advantage over the iPhone 14 Pro because it features a USB-C port as opposed to the latter’s Lightning port. For those who already have a cabinet full of USB-C cables, this will be more handy.

The two phones can charge to 50% capacity with a 20W or greater charger in around 30 minutes, but their actual charging speeds are the same. Additionally, both phones enable up to 15W of wireless charging.

As you can see, there are plenty of similarities between these phones and just as many differences. They have the same screen size and resolution, as well as both having a Dynamic Island, the same chipset, and a similar overall design.
